Basis Bay launches region's first technology equipment portal

KUALA LUMPUR - Basis Bay Group, a technology services and hardware solutions vendor, launched its eBasis Bay, an internet portal for the trading of pre-owned, refurbished and new hardware equipment.
The portal was launched by the Minister of Energy, Communications and Multimedia Datuk Amar Leo Moggie here Wednesday.
"We are targeting business across the financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications and retail industries. The portal is also positioned for small and medium industries, where the total cost of ownership is a critical factor," the group's chief executive officer, Praba Thiagarajah, said.
He said through the portal, customers would be able to source, produce, trade and sell new, pre-owned and refurbished hardware ranging from mid- to high-end computer mainframes.
"Other value added services include after-sales support such as installation, configuration, customisation, testing and maintenance which are carried out by a strong in-house team of engineers," he said, adding the company is negotiating with third party leasing and financial services organisations.
"This is one of the most comprehensive listings of products and components available on the internet in the region.
"We are confident that the portal will meet the immediate needs of not only our customers but as an information and trading portal, provide technology professionals with the ideal platform to procure, explore and exchange information and equipment," he added.
