New Appointment
First off, we would like to welcome our new Chief Operations Officer (COO), Bala Chelliah. He will be responsible for charting the company’s strategic direction in Malaysia to further spur e-Basis Bay’s growth. He will also be a key player in the planning and implementation of the company’s marketing and sales strategies. Bala brings with him 22 years of experience.
New ‘Look’ Portal
Moving on, as promised, we are pleased to announce that the ebasisbay portal is up with a new "facelift". Today marks the cessation of the old version. Please log on to www.ebasisbay.com to see the “technologically engineered" version! Some of the new features comprise of:

Why Buy Pre-owned Hardware (Part 2)
In the May edition of our e-newsletter, we listed a set of reasons to opt for used/ refurbished/ pre-owned computer hardware. To recap, we highlighted the benefits in terms of:
- purchase price
- retained value
- performance
- configuration options
In addition to those factors, other key considerations are as listed below:
+ Reliability
The reliability of refurbished systems is historically very good. Even moving components have many years of warranty. Dependability can be improved by installing current firmware, recommended OS patches and newer hard discs. Many reconditioned machines can be pre-certified by manufacturers prior to shipment.
+ Warranty
Typically, warranty is available for both new and used equipment from the original manufacturer or a third-party maintenance company.
+ Hardware Warranty
Warranties for refurbished equipment vary but all equipment are eligible for vendor maintenance. Refurbished equipment can also be priced to include the original manufacturer's warranty period.
+ Software Maintenance
The same applies to software maintenance as well. Again, buyers have the option of maintenance by the original manufacturer or a third-party to support their solution.
